Diverge like roads that lead to nowhere.
A papier-mache mask rests next to sour cherries.

*Look at you, the blurry shape
that used to bear my name,
dance across the screen from left to right.
Soft and blurred a whispered word,
like tears wept in the rain,
all around and hiding in plain sight.

*Time bends what it passes through
into the strangest shapes,
like a face that’s been caught in the act.
I can see my lips move
but I hear no sounds escape
seems my tongue’s been taken by the cat.
